World Expo or World Exhibition of industry and culture of individual countries will officially be held in 2020 in Dubai! The International Expo Committee decided this on November 27. The emirate thus defeated the competing candidate cities of Yekaterinburg (Russia), Izmir (Turkey) and Sao Paolo (Brazil) in the final selection. Dubai won the favor of the professional public mainly thanks to the concept "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future" (Connecting Minds, Creating the Future), which stems from the essence of the emirate as a global multi-cultural center, commercial and transport hub for more than 2 billion people. Dubai Expo is to be the largest to date, the first in the region of the Middle East and at the same time the first in the Arab world. The venue for Dubai EXPO 2020 will be the Dubai World Central complex in Jebel Ali. DWC is to become the largest and most profitable transport hub in the world together with the new Dubai International Airport in the future. It is expected that the world exhibition will have high added value for the economy of the emirate and the entire union. The number of tourists in Dubai should thus increase from the current 10 million annually to 25 million by 2020.
