Feel the taste of Mauritius history on the famous tea route, immerse yourself in the beautiful past and beautiful gift of the island!
This trip will take you back to the time of the first days of Mauritius with its rich colonial history and you will get a chance to see the largest plantations, observe the process of cultivation and production of tea and taste the best varieties of teas and rum.
First you will visit the city of Cure, which is one of the main commercial centers of the island. Then you will see Trou aux Cerfs Volcano - a mighty natural volcanic crater, 85 meters deep and 200 meters wide, was created millions of years ago.
You will see the famous Domaine des Aubineaux and its gardens. This is a colonial house built in 1872 by the owner of Bois Chéri plantations, the first and largest tea producer in Mauritius. After visiting the house, you come to the Camphor garden with exotic trees from the endemic forest and you will definitely enjoy the beautiful view of the tea plantation. You will also be invited for a cup or two of tea. During the Bois Chéri factory tour, you will see the history of tea production. During your visit, you can taste teas while enjoying a beautiful panoramic view of the beautiful south of the island.
You will continue to the 19th century Saint Aubin house. Look at the vanilla orchid plantation and Anthurium flowers, as well as rum production in the distillery and taste it right on the spot!
Finally, enjoy an excellent vanilla chicken lunch on the balcony of the colonial Saint Aubin house.
