The nature reserve is located in the southern part of the island on an area of 5 hectares. It was established in 1985. Along the way among banana trees, palms and bamboo, you can explore various animal species typical of this zone with a local guide. The park is home to over 500 turtles and 1500 crocodiles, and you will also see bats, iguanas and chameleons. The private collection of butterflies and insects represents 23,000 items. The largest and oldest resident is the male turtle Domino weighing 275 kg. The local museum maps the history of the island in terms of settlement by colonizers, who always brought new species of flora and fauna representatives with them. You can also meet the unfortunately already extinct Dodo bird (Dodo nejapný). Gourmets will certainly welcome the opportunity to taste special crocodile menu at the local restaurant "At the Hungry Crocodile". In the small shop you can also choose from products made of crocodile leather.
