Start this mysterious journey with a tour of the city of Curepipe, which is the largest central city on the island. Curepipe, as the main commercial hub, hosts luxurious aristocratic mansions and modern embassy and business buildings. The town hall known as Hotel de Ville, opened in 1902, has unique and magnificent architecture, as does the Royal College.
Another tourist destination is Trou-aux Cerfs, the so-called sleeping crater, which is located at the highest point of Curepipe, is a place that has attracted many.Also visit Ganga Talao, a crater lake located in a remote mountainous area deep in the heart of Mauritius. It is considered the holiest Hindu site in Mauritius. There is a temple dedicated to Shiva and other gods, including Hanuman, Lakshmi and others, along Grand Bassin. During the Maha Shivarati festival, many pilgrims in Mauritius walk barefoot from their homes to the lake.
You will end the day at La Vanille Crocodile Park, a picturesque and idyllic nature reserve. During the walk, you will be surrounded by beautiful palms, banana plants and giant bamboo and imagine yourself in a tropical rainforest. You will come face to face with giant Nile crocodiles and pass herds of giant Aldabra turtles. An impressive collection of insects including beautiful butterflies awaits you after visiting the crocodile farm.
Part of the attraction is the Crocodile Affamé or Hungry Crocodile Restaurant, which is built among the treetops. It offers you a selection of Mauritian and other dishes, especially several dishes made from crocodile meat. As a bonus it offers, the southern end of the island called Gris Gris, which is completely different from other areas. A place where strong currents hit the clean cliffs and create a dramatic but beautiful view.
