BOXPARK is a new shopping promenade that stretches almost the entire length of Al Wasl Rd. The complex consists of several smaller pavilions with shops, restaurants and cafés. Most buildings are assembled from old shipping containers. The entire complex is built in an industrial style and is designed to appeal especially to younger generations.

The BOXPARK complex is inspired by the eponymous project in London. BOXPARK in Dubai is the work of the state developer MERAAS, which is behind many prestigious projects such as The Beach at JBR, CityWalk Dubai, LA MER and Bluewaters Island. The main idea of the innovative concept is to be an alternative to large shopping centers in Dubai and thus attract especially young energetic people.
