When designer Camille Walala saw our bright blue sky, pink sunsets, green sugar cane fields and explosion of various colors used to decorate homes in our village, it was love at first sight. She was full of inspiration when collaborating with local architectural studio JFA on the design of SALT of Palmar. Camille's bold style meets the spirited style of Mauritius. And with local craftsmen who create furniture, art and finer details, the Mauritian influence comes loud and clear. Thanks to this, the hotel is completely unique. it is inspiring. And it is a very happy place.
There are many, many things that make SALT of Palmar an exceptional place. For some, it's the fact that you can make your own fresh peanut butter at breakfast. For others, it's the countless shades of blue of the Palmar lagoon. Then there's the rooftop bar cocktail called "No Smoke without Fire". It was inspired by burning sugar cane fields during harvest. Another cocktail is made from red chili peppers and tamarind - a combination loved by locals.How many boutique hotels can say they don't have one, but three bars? And wait until you walk barefoot on our beach and dive into the Palmar lagoon. The best way to start the day. Or in this case end the day. SALT of Palmar is the place we call home.
